Length, balance, edge retention

An 8.5" blade is the sweet spot for a home chef knife — long enough to slice cleanly through a roast or a wide cabbage, short enough to stay nimble on smaller work. The full-tang build runs the steel through the Linen Micarta handle for a balanced, planted feel in the hand. Vacuum heat treatment and a deep-freeze cycle take the steel to 60±2 HRC, so the 15° edge holds longer between sharpenings.

THE STEEL

67 layers, real Damascus

The pattern is not a print. A 10Cr15CoMoV cutting core is forge-clad in 66 outer layers of stainless Damascus — 67 layers in total — so the watery grain runs right through the steel. The core is what holds the edge; the cladding adds corrosion resistance and the pattern. Hardened to 60±2 HRC by vacuum heat treatment and deep freeze, then ground to 15° per side and finished with a mirror polish against a sandblasted contrast.

No. It comes from 67 real forged layers — a 10Cr15CoMoV core clad in 66 outer layers of stainless Damascus. The grain runs through the steel, not printed on the surface.
