Sharpening Rod - Elegant Series (B38L)
A honing rod for the bench, not a sharpener. The steel rod realigns the edge of your knife between proper sharpenings, keeping it true and biting through everyday prep. Forged from hardened 10Cr15CoMoV steel and fitted with a Linen Micarta handle, the Elegant Series B38L is built to outlast the knives it maintains.

DESCRIPTION
Reach for this before you reach for the whetstone. A honing rod doesn't remove steel; it realigns the edge that's folded over from ordinary use. Five or six passes before a prep session and your Elegant Series knife cuts the way it did the week you bought it.
Maintain the Edge You Already Have
Your Damascus blade's edge doesn't go dull so much as it goes sideways. Microscopic bends accumulate with every session on the board, and that's what makes the knife push food instead of slicing through it. Running the rod along the edge a few times straightens it back without thinning the steel the way a stone does. Do it regularly and your stone sessions become a quarterly event instead of a weekly one.

ELEGANT SERIES B38L
Keep the edge you already have
A keen knife dulls in two ways. Over months the edge wears and needs sharpening on a stone. But day to day it simply rolls out of line, and that is what a honing rod fixes. A few light passes down the B38L rod straightens the fine edge back to centre, so the knife cuts like it did off the stone. Hone often, sharpen rarely.

WHY A ROD
Hone is not sharpen
This rod does not grind a new edge. It trues the existing one. Run the blade down each side at a consistent angle, a few strokes only, and the rolled edge snaps back into line. Do it before a big prep session and the knife feels reset. The rod is hardened 10Cr15CoMoV at 60±2 HRC, so it stands up to repeated use against your harder Damascus blades without wearing out.

HOW TO USE
A few light passes
Hold the rod tip-down on a board or hold it out in front of you. Set the knife heel against the top of the rod at roughly the angle the blade was sharpened. Draw the blade down and toward you in one smooth stroke, tip to heel, so the whole edge touches steel. Alternate sides, four or five strokes each, light pressure. Wipe the blade and you are done. There is no need to press hard or hone every day.
CARE
Hand-wash and keep it dry
Hand-wash only, never the dishwasher. Wipe the rod and the Linen Micarta handle clean after honing and dry both fully before storing. Keep it somewhere dry so the rod stays free of rust. Backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
FAQs
Is this a honing rod or a sharpener?
It is a honing rod. It realigns the edge between sharpenings rather than grinding a new one. For a worn edge you still need a whetstone or sharpening service; the rod keeps that edge straight in between.
What is the rod made of?
A hardened 10Cr15CoMoV steel rod at 60±2 HRC, fitted with a Linen Micarta handle. The hardness lets it true harder blades without wearing out.
How often should I use it?
Hone little and often. A few light passes before a prep session or once a week is plenty for most home cooks. You do not need to hone every day.
Will it work on my Damascus knives?
Yes. It is designed to maintain Xinzuo and Hezhen kitchen knives, including Damascus blades, by realigning the edge. It does not remove the Damascus pattern or grind the bevel.
Is it dishwasher safe?
No. Hand-wash only, then dry the rod and handle fully before storing to prevent rust.
Does it come in a gift box?
Yes. The B38L ships in a gift box, so it presents well on its own or alongside a knife.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. It carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
