WHY A MAGNETIC BLOCK
Unlike a slotted block, there are no fixed slots to limit which knives fit. The magnetic faces hold blades of almost any size and shape, so you can mix Damascus chef knives, paring knives and a cleaver on the one stand. Magnets on both faces double the capacity and let you arrange your most-used knives front and centre. The contact surface is acacia wood, not bare steel, so blades rest against timber rather than metal.

Set it on a flat section of bench; the non-slip base keeps it planted while you load and unload knives. At 24 cm long, 11.5 cm wide and 33 cm tall, it has the footprint of a small block but the height to take longer chef and slicing knives. To mount a knife, rest the spine or flat of the blade against the face and let the magnet take hold, then lift it straight off when you need it. Keep edges facing inward so you reach for the handle, not the blade.
CARE
Hand wash only, never the dishwasher. Wipe the acacia with a damp cloth and dry it straight away; avoid soaking the timber. Re-oil the wood periodically with a food-safe mineral oil to keep the grain rich and protected against drying out. Wipe knives dry before placing them on the block so moisture does not sit against the wood.
