DESCRIPTION

This is not just a cutting board; it's your kitchen’s new workstation. Built for serious home cooks, this extra-large board provides a massive, stable, and beautiful surface for your most ambitious prep jobs—from breaking down large cuts of meat to prepping a week's worth of vegetables at once.

The Ultimate Surface for Your Knives

Crafted from premium end-grain acacia, this board is designed to protect your investment. Unlike standard boards that dull your blade, this "self-healing" surface allows your knife to glide between the wood fibers, not slice across them. The fibers close back up, which means:

  • Your knives stay razor-sharp, for longer.
  • The board resists deep cuts and scoring, staying smooth and hygienic.

Hefty, Stable, and Built to Last

At a massive 38mm (1.5 inches) thick, this board has a satisfying heft that stays put on your counter. You can chop, cleave, and work with confidence, knowing your surface is stable and won't warp or slide. The rich, deep grains of the acacia wood make it a beautiful centerpiece, equally at home prepping a feast or serving one.

  • Material: Premium Acacia Wood
  • Construction: End Grain (Knife-friendly & self-healing)
  • Dimensions: 485mm x 356mm x 38mm (19.1" x 14" x 1.5")
  • Use: A large, stable workstation for all daily prep, butchery, and serving.
  • Model: XHCB-XSM05

XHCB SERIES

Built for the knives you cut with

This is an end-grain board, not edge-grain. The acacia is spliced so the grain stands vertical, meaning the blade slips between the wood fibres rather than chopping across them. The surface parts and closes back together, which is why it is gentler on your edge and shows fewer knife marks over years of use. At 38mm thick and 3.92kg, it sits flat and dead-still on the bench while you work.

Kinder to your edge, kinder to your eyes

WHY END GRAIN

Kinder to your edge, kinder to your eyes

Edge-grain and plastic boards force the knife to slice across hard fibre, which dulls the edge and leaves visible scars. End grain lets the blade enter with the fibre. Less drag, slower dulling, and a surface that hides its own cuts. Acacia is a dense, closed-grain hardwood, so it resists moisture and stains better than softer timbers.

HOW TO USE IT

Two sides, one big surface

Use the flat face for daily chopping, board-to-pan transfers and plating. Flip to the juice-groove side for carving roasts, slicing tomatoes or anything that releases liquid, and the channel catches the run-off before it reaches the bench. The 485 x 356mm footprint gives you room to break down a whole chicken or run a full mise en place without crowding.

Hand wash, dry, oil

CARE

Hand wash, dry, oil

Not dishwasher safe. Wash by hand with warm soapy water, then dry standing on edge so air reaches both faces. Never soak it or leave it wet. Oil it periodically with a food-safe mineral, olive or walnut oil to keep the acacia sealed and stop it drying out or cracking. Treated this way, an end-grain board lasts decades.

FAQs

What is an end-grain board and why does it matter?

End grain means the wood is spliced so the fibres stand vertical, facing up. The knife edge slips between the fibres and the surface closes back over the cut, so the board is gentler on your edge and shows fewer marks than an edge-grain or plastic board.

What size is this board?

It measures 485 x 356 x 38mm (19.1 x 14 x 1.5in) and weighs 3.92kg. It is an extra-large, extra-thick board with plenty of room for breaking down large cuts.

What wood is it made from?

Solid acacia, a dense closed-grain hardwood that resists moisture and stains well and holds up to daily chopping.

Is it reversible?

Yes. One side is flat for everyday prep, the other has a juice groove to catch liquid when carving or slicing juicy produce.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

No. Hand wash only in warm soapy water, dry it standing on edge, and never soak it. Oil it periodically with food-safe mineral, olive or walnut oil.

How do I keep it from cracking?

Keep it out of the dishwasher, dry it fully after each wash, and re-oil it whenever the surface looks dry. Regular oiling keeps the acacia sealed against moisture.

Where is it made?

Made by Xinzuo in Yangjiang, Guangdong, China.
