Fix It, Load It, Done

Mount the strip to a wall or splashback within easy reach of your bench, level and clear of cupboard doors. Place each knife spine-first against the timber and let the magnet take it, then ease it flat so the blade lies along the wood with the edge facing out. To lift a knife, tilt it off by the handle rather than dragging it sideways across the grain. Keep your heaviest cleavers and the lightest paring knives spread along the strip so the load sits balanced.

CARE

Keep The Timber Right

Acacia is a natural timber, so wipe it down with a dry or barely-damp cloth and never soak it or put it through a dishwasher. Wipe knives dry before they go back on the strip to keep moisture off the wood. An occasional rub of food-safe mineral or cutting-board oil keeps the grain from drying out and holds the finish. Check the wall fixings now and then, since a loaded strip carries real weight.
