DESCRIPTION

Slide this on when your santoku's done for the day. The wooden saya covers the edge clean from heel to tip, so it doesn't nick the next thing it touches in the drawer and doesn't go dull before you need it again. Ash wood, magnetic hold, no loose pin to lose.

Matched to a Santoku Profile

Santoku blades have a flatter curve than a chef knife, and the sheath's internal shape follows it. RS01 fits smaller santoku blades, sitting snug on knives around the 17-18 cm mark without leaving gaps at the heel or over-covering at the tip. The ash wood stays dimensionally stable in a kitchen environment, and the embedded magnets grip the blade spine with enough force to stay shut through daily drawer use.

WALNUT SANTOKU SAYA

A proper home for your santoku

This is a walnut blade cover built for one job: protecting your santoku when it is not in your hand. The blade seats inside the wooden body and a magnet in the spine grips it, so the edge never rests against the timber and the knife will not slide free in a drawer or a roll. American black walnut, sized at 220 x 80 x 20mm, 111 grams.

Why magnetic

The edge never touches the wood

This saya — magnetic spine

  • Internal magnet grips the blade
  • Edge held clear of the timber
  • Secure in a drawer or in transit

A friction-fit or bare blade

FAQs

Does this sheath have a magnet?

Yes. A magnet set into the spine grips the blade so it stays put and the edge never touches the wood. Slide the knife in spine-first and it holds until you pull it straight out.

Which knives does it fit?

Santoku knives in the Xinzuo and Hezhen B5, B13, B27, B30, B32, B35, B37, B38, B46, X02 and X02M series. The internal cut is sized for a standard santoku blade.

What wood is it made from?

American black walnut. Each saya carries the natural grain of the timber, so no two are identical.

What are the dimensions?

220 x 80 x 20mm (22 x 8 x 2cm), weighing 111 grams. It is light enough to carry in a knife roll or kit bag.

Will it fit a santoku from another brand?

It is designed around the Xinzuo and Hezhen santoku blades listed above. If you have a different maker's santoku, measure your blade against the 220 x 80 x 20mm body before ordering.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a dry cloth only. Keep it out of the dishwasher and off the wet bench. An occasional coat of food-safe wood oil keeps the walnut sealed.

Where is it made?

Yangjiang, in Guangdong, China, the same workshop region behind the Xinzuo knives it protects.
