Ground to 15 degrees per side and finished in a black titanium water-wave stonewash.

This is the ultimate tool for vegetable lovers. The Nakiri is a traditional Japanese knife designed for one purpose: making vegetable prep effortless and precise. Its flat, straight blade is perfect for rapid, clean "push-cuts," giving you paper-thin slices and perfectly uniform dice every time.

Your Prep Shortcut

Forget the rocking motion of a chef knife. The Nakiri's flat edge makes full contact with the cutting board on every stroke, ensuring you cut all the way through herbs and leafy greens in a single pass. Plus, the wide, flat blade doubles as a handy bench scraper—simply use it to scoop your prepped ingredients and transfer them straight from the board to the pan.

Modern Performance, Timeless Design

At its heart is a high-performance 10Cr15CoMoV steel core, vacuum heat-treated to 60±2 HRC. This means it takes a screamingly sharp edge and holds it, even through mountains of prep. The core is wrapped in 67 layers of stunning Damascus steel for added durability. A signature hand-shaped burnt oak handle provides a balanced, comfortable grip, giving you complete control for even the finest julienne.

Mo Series

The Vegetable Specialist

The Mo Series nakiri is the knife you reach for when the board is full of vegetables. Its straight, square-tipped edge is purpose-built for the job: the whole 180mm sits flat on the board, so every push-cut goes clean through to the surface. No rocking motion, no half-attached slices. For onions, carrots, cabbage and herbs it is faster and more confident than any rocking chef's knife.

Why A Nakiri

Full-Contact Cutting

The flat edge means the blade meets the board along its entire length. One downward push severs a vegetable top to bottom in a single motion — ideal for clean dice, fine julienne and ribbon-thin greens. The tall blade face also acts as a built-in scoop, so you can sweep prepped vegetables straight off the board and into the pan.

The Steel

67-Layer Damascus, Cobalt Core

The cutting core is 10Cr15CoMoV — a cobalt-alloyed stainless steel hardened to 60±2 HRC through vacuum heat treatment and a deep-freeze cycle for fine, stable grain. That core is wrapped in 67 folded layers of Damascus clad in 316L stainless, finished in a black titanium water-wave stonewash. The result holds a keen 15-degree-per-side edge and resists staining through heavy vegetable prep.

In The Hand

Burnt Oak, Hidden Rat-Tail Tang (Partial)

The handle is burnt oak over a hidden rat-tail tang (a partial tang) with a bolster. The dark, flame-finished grain pairs with the black stonewashed blade for a quiet, technical look. At roughly 228g the knife has enough heft to drop through dense root vegetables without feeling blade-heavy.

FAQs

What is a nakiri knife best for?

It is a dedicated vegetable knife. The flat edge and square tip make it ideal for push-cutting onions, carrots, cabbage, leafy greens and herbs into clean, even pieces.

Why does a nakiri have a flat edge instead of a curved one?

The straight edge stays in full contact with the board, so one downward push cuts a vegetable all the way through. There is no rocking motion and no half-attached tail of uncut slices.

What steel is the Mo Series nakiri made from?

The cutting core is 10Cr15CoMoV cobalt-alloy stainless steel, wrapped in 67 layers of Damascus clad in 316L stainless. It is hardened to 60±2 HRC.

How sharp is the edge?

It is ground to 15 degrees per side, a keen angle suited to clean vegetable cuts.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

No. It is hand-wash only — wash, then dry immediately to protect the edge and the Damascus finish.

How long is the blade?

6.8 inches, or 180mm. The tall, flat profile gives you full board contact and doubles as a scoop for clearing prepped vegetables.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes, it comes with a lifetime warranty.
