DESCRIPTION

Stop crushing your crusty sourdough. This 8-inch serrated bread knife is engineered to do one thing perfectly: glide through any loaf, from the toughest crusts to the softest brioche, giving you a clean, beautiful slice with zero compression.

The Secret to a Perfect Slice

Unlike a straight blade that can "skate" off a hard crust, this knife's specialized serrations grip the surface and saw through cleanly, protecting the soft, airy crumb inside. It's also your secret weapon for delicate items like soft cakes, pastries, and ripe tomatoes, giving you perfect slices without tearing.

Power and Precision

This is not your average bread knife. It's built around a high-performance 10Cr15CoMoV steel core, vacuum heat-treated to 60±2 HRC. This means the serrated points stay sharp and effective far longer than those on a typical knife. The stunning 67-layer Damascus cladding adds durability, while the hand-shaped burnt oak handle offers perfect balance and control for every slice.

The loaf knife that won't squash the crumb

The loaf knife that won't squash the crumb

A bread knife earns its keep on the hard jobs: a blistered sourdough crust, a soft milk loaf, a layered sponge cake. The Mo series 8" bread knife is built for exactly that. Long pointed serrations grab the crust and saw through cleanly while the blade glides under almost no downward pressure, so the loaf keeps its shape instead of crushing flat. Forged from 67 layers of Damascus over a hard 10Cr15CoMoV core and dressed in a matte black titanium water-wave stonewash, it looks the part and cuts like a workhorse.

Points do the cutting, so the loaf stays whole

Why serrated

Points do the cutting, so the loaf stays whole

A straight edge presses down to cut and squashes soft bread. A serrated edge works differently: the pointed teeth bite into the crust and the recessed gullets between them slice the crumb with a sawing stroke, not a press. That means a clean, even slice through hard crust and airy interior alike, with no torn or compressed bread. The same teeth make short work of tomatoes, citrus, melons, cakes and crusty rolls.

  • Saws through crust
  • Won't crush soft crumb
  • Tomatoes & cakes too
  • 8" reach for big loaves

Blade & build

67-layer Damascus, 10Cr15CoMoV core at 60±2 HRC

The blade is 67 layers of Damascus folded around a 10Cr15CoMoV cobalt-moly steel core, hardened to 60±2 HRC through vacuum heat treatment and a deep-freeze cycle. The finish is the Mo series' New Water Wave black titanium stonewash, acid-etched to bring out the Damascus pattern. The serrations are ground at 15° per side. It runs full tang through a burnt oak handle for balance and grip, and weighs 182g.

Burnt oak, full tang, built to saw

In the hand

Burnt oak, full tang, built to saw

The handle is burnt oak, warm and grippy, with the full tang running its length for a solid, balanced feel as you draw the blade back and forth. At 182g it has enough weight to carry the stroke through a tough crust without you forcing it. Let the serrations do the work: long, smooth passes rather than downward pressure.

FAQs

Can a serrated bread knife be sharpened or honed like a straight knife?

Not the same way. A serrated edge can't be honed on a steel or run over a standard whetstone like a straight edge, the teeth would just be flattened. It holds its bite for a long time because only the points contact the board; when it does eventually dull, it needs a tapered rod that fits inside each gullet, or professional re-serrating.

Why is a serrated edge better for bread than a straight one?

A straight edge cuts by pressing down, which squashes soft bread and slips off hard crust. The pointed serrations bite into crust and saw through the crumb with a back-and-forth stroke instead of pressure, so the loaf keeps its shape and the slice stays clean.

What else can I cut with it besides bread?

Tomatoes, citrus, melons, cakes, pastries and crusty rolls, anything with a tough skin or soft interior that a straight blade would crush or tear.

Is the blade real Damascus?

Yes. It's 67 layers of Damascus forged around a 10Cr15CoMoV steel core, finished in the Mo series' New Water Wave black titanium stonewash that's acid-etched to reveal the pattern.

How hard is the blade?

It's hardened to 60±2 HRC using vacuum heat treatment and a deep-freeze cycle, which helps the serrations hold their bite.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

No. Hand-wash only and dry it straight away. Dishwashers are hard on both the Damascus finish and the burnt oak handle.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, it carries a lifetime warranty.
