DESCRIPTION

A boning knife's edge is too narrow and too aggressive to survive rattling loose in a drawer. Reach for this saya after every session, slide it on, and the blade goes back into storage properly sheathed. Ash wood, internal magnets, dry fit every time.

Built Around a Narrow Profile

Boning knives are thinner and more tapered than a chef knife, so the sheath opening has to match or you get wobble. TG01 is shaped for blades in the 15-16 cm range, with a narrow channel that follows the typical boning profile from heel to tip. The internal magnets grip the spine firmly, which matters on a narrow blade where there's less surface to seat against. It doesn't need a pin to stay shut.

WALNUT MAGNETIC SHEATH

A Proper Home For Your Boning Knife

A boning knife earns its keep on a fine, narrow edge. This walnut saya protects it. Magnets set into the spine of the sheath hold the blade firmly while keeping the cutting edge clear of the timber, so the knife slides in and out without dragging on wood. No pins, no straps, no fuss. At 47 grams it travels easily in a knife roll and stows neatly in a drawer.

Why magnetic

FAQs

Does the magnet hold the knife securely?

Yes. Magnets set into the spine of the sheath grip the blade firmly with no pins or straps. The knife stays put in a drawer or knife roll and pulls out clean.

Which knives does it fit?

It is made for Xinzuo boning knives, specifically the B1, B2, B5, B13, B27, B30, B32, B37, B38 and B46. The internal channel is 21 x 6 x 2 cm, sized for slim boning blades.

Will the magnet touch or scratch the edge?

No. The magnets catch the blade spine, not the edge. The cutting edge floats inside the channel and never rubs against the walnut.

What is the sheath made from?

Solid walnut, a dense close-grained hardwood that stands up to daily kitchen use. It weighs 47 grams.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

No. Hand wipe only. Dishwashers and soaking swell and warp the timber. Wipe with a damp cloth, dry immediately, and oil occasionally with food-safe mineral oil.

Where is it made?

In Yangjiang, Guangdong, China, the heart of China's blade-making industry.

Will it fit a santoku or chef's knife?

No. This saya is shaped for slim boning profiles only. A wider blade will not seat against the magnets correctly.
