The blade is 73-layer Damascus folded over a 14Cr14MoVNb powder-steel core, hardened to 62±2 HRC and ground to 15° per side. The cutting core is 14Cr14MoVNb powder steel, hardened to 62±2 HRC through vacuum heat treatment and a deep-freeze cycle. That hardness holds the 15° edge through repeated boning and trimming. Around the core sit 72 cladding layers of SUS410 stainless — 73 layers in total — folded into a raindrop Damascus pattern that protects the core and resists corrosion.
